Wednesday's News

·    We began a new maths topic about Lightning McQueen and the movie Cars. Lightning is going to help us to learn about measuring, clockwise and anticlockwise and whole, half and quarter turns.
·    In assembly, Mrs Hunt told us a legend from Romania about the celebration of the beginning of spring. Mrs Hunt gave each of the adults a red and white string for their wrists.
·    We continued to make our books on the mini-laptops in literacy.
·    After lunch we talked about our new International Primary Curriculum topic and made Wordles of the things we already know.
·    We told each other some jokes after break. Charlie M had the best delivery of the day, with ‘Doctor, Doctor, I think I need glasses!’ ‘Indeed you do, this is a fish and chip shop!’ Aston’s was good too: ‘Doctor, Doctor, I’m being eaten by a man-eating snake! I’ve only got a few seconds to live!’ ‘Take a seat sir, I’ll be with you in a minute.’

  • Our Reading Corner has been turned into a supermarket because we are learning about food in our topic. It's called 'We are what we eat'.
  • We had a go at doing some maths in the same way that we'll be doing our SATs after Easter.
  • We've been making our own stories in PowerPoint. Our stories include characters, settings, descriptions, make believe or magic, repeated patterns, problems, and solutions and story language.
  • We've just seen Shannon's Mum's new hairdo out the window, and we LOVE IT!

This one is by Dion.

       This one is by Travis.

By Travis again.

         And one more by Travis!

This one is by Riley. It's on its side for some reason. Sorry Riley!

Riley's again and again, randomly on its side. Sorry!

In the Garden, by Danny

Danny directed this stop motion movie. It's his first turn at being a director and we think his work is brilliant.

Head Teacher's Award

The head teacher's award was given to someone in Darwin this week. Mr Scott said that she had given him an AMAZING description of what she was learning to do in maths. She used fabulous vocabulary to explain how to sort things onto a Carroll diagram.

Our Poem

This is the poem that Darwin wrote together. It is about the things that we see on our way to school in the morning. We tried to use similes to describe them.
